And as the reactions here showcase beautifully: One cannot compare this 1 to 1, because men were never the ones systemically degraded by the work they do. Men were back in the day were these were coming from the ones doing the "better recognized" jobs, the "real" jobs , the "jobs that earns the money" if you want so, and women were the ones "just doing the hosework, which was of course important also but meh...". Imo the male audience here doesn't view this as degrading because they are "better humans that are actually helpful", but because the men never really had to face this kind of discrimintation. You don't agree? Then consider the opposite case: It's not quite the same vein, but compare jokes about your genital size. I think men with an unprefered genital size feel much more dicriminated than women with an unprefered genital size, and thus the same kind of jokes don't work for both genders equally.
